All patients, including children, must have a mask of some kind in order to enter our office. If you forget your mask, we will have some available for purchase, but quantities are limited.
Our doors will remain locked so we can control the number of patients in the office.
No food or drinks will be allowed in the office.
Because it is critical for us to stay on schedule to avoid patients being in the office for too long and increasing risk, ALL PATIENTS MUST BE ON TIME FOR THEIR APPOINTMENTS. Late patients will be rescheduled. For new patients or current patients that need to update forms on file, PLEASE COMPLETE THESE FORMS ON OUR WEBSITE PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT. (Forms are located under Patients-->Online Registration Form and Patient-->HIPAA Release and Financial Policy Forms)
Everyone will have their temperature checked upon entering the office.
All patients will be required to either wash their hands or use hand sanitizer upon entering the office.
Anyone who has cough has had exposure to COVID-19, or has a fever will be required to come back once they are clear of symptoms and fever or are outside the window of contracting the virus.
The scheduled patient is the only person allowed in the office except in the case of minors or those that need an adult present. In those cases, one other person (masked) will be allowed to accompany the patient.
Glasses browsing, adjusting, etc will be offered without an appointment only if adequate social distancing can be maintained and our opticians are available. Scheduling an appointment with our opticians is preferred. Our opticians will accompany you on your search for the perfect frame and will use their expertise to help you locate that frame. They will remove frames for patients to try on, and all those frames will be sanitized before being placed back on display.
All glasses and contact lens pickup will be curbside. Call when you arrive!
Here is what we will be doing on our end:
All staff will have temperature checks every morning upon arrival and anyone who has a fever or is feeling sick will be sent home.
All staff upon arriving will wash their hands for 20 seconds and wash hands or do hand sanitizer throughout the day.
All chairs will be spaced apart 6 feet, and patients will be given a disposable paper to place on their chair once they leave the area to indicate that specific chair needs to be sanitized. This will ensure that if the staff is occupied at the time, the chair will be sanitized as soon as they are available and no one else will sit there.
There will be no toys in the kid's area.
We are minimizing points of contact. Any welcome forms, HIPAA and financial policies are available online at our website, and we are asking patients to fill those out ahead of time to decrease time in the office and decrease the number of patients needing a pen.
Coffee and water services will be suspended until further notice.
All magazines are removed from the welcome area.
Pens that are used will be placed in a "used pens" container and sanitized. No pen will be used twice.
Staff members will be wearing masks and will sanitize their work stations routinely throughout the day.
Door signs outside the exam rooms will indicate if the room is sanitized or needs to be sanitized. The sign will turn as soon as the technician walks in with a patient to indicate it needs to be cleaned. Each room will be thoroughly cleaned between patients.
Our credit card swiper will be accessible for patients to swipe their own cards.
We may look a little different! Masks will be worn by all staff and for any procedures that require closer contact, face shields may be worn.
Temporary plexiglass will be installed in certain areas of the office such as the front desk, checkout, etc.
These procedures are subject to change based upon CDC guidelines.
